Checo brings to the table deep expertise in grants operations

Checo brings over 14 years of international non-profit and for-profit experience — with a particular focus on grants management, foundation operations, project management and systems set-up and streamlining.

From 2021 to present, Checo has also been serving as the program/grants manager for the Vipassana Community Foundation (VCF) — which gives approximately 60 grants to over 30 countries worldwide annually. In this role, Checo is in charge of running all aspects of the community foundation, including: running all grants operations and grant reporting, running all donations processing and donor reporting, as well as leading the charged on accounting and any other aspects of VCF’s day-to-day operations.

With his project management background and passion for systems efficiencies, Checo has also designed and implemented all the back-end grants, donor and accounting systems and automations for VCF — that allow VCF to efficiently distribute large quantities of grants annually with such a small/lean team.

Other roles that Checo has held (or currently holds) include:

  • 2014 to present: project manager for a top executive of an international non-profit— assisting in the expansion of operations in Latin America.
